Great Success In Mattapan At Boston Shines Event

Boston Shines is a city wide clean up where residents and community members roll up their sleeves and take part in making their neighborhoods shine. On Saturday, April 27, 2013 families, friends, and community organizations gathered together to participate in Boston Shines for Mattapan. The event had a great turn out with Mattapan Square Main Streets, Mattapan Patriots, and Mattapan United all represented in this community effort.

On top of the different project areas that were assigned to clean, there was also a great local dance group that performed a flashed mob right in Mattapan square. A big thank you to the Area B3 police for traffic control on Saturday, with the great weather, tons of kids and families, this event was a huge success this year. As the students reflected on the incident, they wanted the families of the victims to know that Boston was caring for them and we are all united by this tragedy.
