Please come out this Thursday, March 6, to the Mattapan Branch Libary (at 1350 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, MA 02126) at 5:30 p.m. for a community assembly around Public Safety.  In light of various current events, representatives from community organizations will discuss positive, constructive responses to violence.  Representatives from the BPHC's Violence Intervention Project, the YWCA's police dialogues, and the B3 Police Department's Community Service Office and Crime Watch department will speak.  Refreshments will be provided.  For more information, please contact Eva Huston at eva.huston@bostonabcd.org or (617)298-2045x219.  Tell your friends!

Mattapan Marches for Peace

Last Friday afternoon February 14, the Boston Public Health Commission's Violence Intervention Project (responsible for the iconic "Our Mattapan" violence awareness ad campaign you may have seen around town) and the Mattapan Community Health Center marched for peace on Blue Hill Avenue along with people who live and work in Mattapan.  The march ended at the Mattapan Branch Library, where marchers enjoyed hot cocoa, chanted and were addressed by a few different community leaders.  Thank you BPHC, VIP and MCHC and thank you everyone who came out!  To learn more about the Violence Intervention Project, visit http://www.bphc.org/whatwedo/violence-prevention/Violence-Intervention-and-Prevention/VIP-Neighborhood-Coalitions/Pages/Mattapan.aspx .

Tuesday: Take a Picture with the Red Sox 2013 World Series Trophy at ABCD Mattapan!!

BCYF Summer Warm-Up- Learn more about summer camps and resources!

Boston Centers for Youth & Families is hosting a fun and informative event connecting youth & families with summer resources in the middle of school vacation week, Wednesday, February 19, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Center, 1350 Tremont St., Roxbury Crossing.  Offerings will include games, music, youth performers, and summer resources.  Don't miss this free opportunity!
