Part-time Summer Instructor positions - Boston University Upward Bound

Boston University Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science are now accepting applications for part-time Summer Instructor positions in Science, Mathematics, English Language Arts, Latin, SAT and MCAS Test Prep, Computer Science and Life Skills. Teachers are responsible for planning and conducting instruction in specified subjects. Educational requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Master's preferable, in specific academic discipline or secondary education with certification or teaching experience in appropriate content area.Required experience: Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience with high school students, strong teaching skills, demonstrated understanding of the needs of disadvantaged youth, ability to respond to student learning needs with innovative ideas and approaches to instruction, and excellent interpersonal skills. $23 hourly pay for classroom instruction and prep-time. Summer program dates are June 23 to August 1, 2014. A one-evening training will take place the week of the June 16.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science at Boston University are programs serving 136 Boston and Chelsea Public High School Students by providing academic instruction, tutoring, social enrichment and personal support.
