The JVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program, Building Your Career as a Pharmacy Technician, will begin on January 21st, 2014.  This training program partners with CVS and prepares candidates to pass the national pharmacy technician certification exam and begin their career in a pharmacy.  In this full-time, 12 week program , students will take classes in

·         Medications and their uses

·         Pharmacy Basics

·         Professional Development

·         Professional Communication

·         Mathematics for Pharmacy Technicians

·         Anatomy

The program includes an 165-hour externship with our partners at CVS, giving students hands-on experience working in a fast-paced pharmacy. In the last week, the program will pay the exam fee for the national certification to become a pharmacy technician, making graduates highly competitive candidates for pharmacy jobs.  Students will be in classes 3 days a week from 9-3 and on externship at CVS for an additional 15 hours per week. Ongoing support will be provided throughout the program and students will benefit from job placement upon graduation.

We accept 15 students per class and offer the program four times per year. Ideal applicants have a high school diploma or GED, can communicate clearly in English, a clean CORI, and a desire to work full-time in a pharmacy.

Interested candidates must attend an information session to begin the admissions process. Information sessions are held every Tuesday at 10am sharp at JVS (29 Winter St., Boston, MA) on the fifth floor. Intake is done on a rolling basis and all interested candidates are encouraged to apply.  For more information contact Julio Fred at (617)399-3213.
