Marketing/Publicity Intern for musicConnects

musiConnects seeks a Marketing/Publicity Intern for our 2013-2014 season
musiConnects is embarking on a three concert series sponsored by the Free for All Concert Fund this Fall and Winter. We are very excited to be able to present free classical concerts in the neighborhoods we serve and beyond. We seek an intern (paid position) to help us to properly promote our events in a creative and community-minded way, and connect with the audiences we attract in an intentional way.
This series will include concerts in non-traditional neighborhoods venues, as well as “guerilla” pop-up events in even more non-traditional settings (think post office, laundry mat).
The intern will:
·      Help design, print and distribute marketing materials for each event
·      Use social media to promote events
·      Connect with venues about pop-up events
·      Attend all events in order to connect with audience members through surveys, conversations, etc.
·      Manage and organize data collected at each event
The ideal candidate is:
·      Enthusiastic about bringing classical music to communities with the least access
·      Creative and mindful about marketing ideas/strategies they want to try
·      Truly interested in getting to know different Boston communities and neighborhoods
·      Organized
·      Outgoing –able to speak to people without an introduction
·      Able to provide their own transportation or comfortable with traveling on the MBTA
