City of Boston Poet Laureate: Branch Visits

Danielle Legros Georges was appointed Boston’s Poet Laureate in December 2014. This summer she will be holding visiting hours at several Boston Public Library branches. If you are a poet seeking feedback on your creative efforts, please bring your poems and drop by to meet and discuss your work with her.

WHERE: Mattapan Branch, 1350 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan
Danielle Legros Georges teaches at Lesley University in the Creative Arts and Learning Division. She was born in Haiti and grew up in Boston’s Haitian community in Mattapan. She’s the author of a collection of poems entitled Maroon, and her work has also been published in a variety of other publications including Agni, The Boston Globe, Callaloo, Black Renaissance Noire, and The American Poetry Review.
